Which Rhode Holiday Sets Are Worth It
2 of the 3 cost more than the products inside. Here's the math.
Rhode has three holiday sets at Sephora this year and two of them are not worth it. I priced every product inside at what it costs on its own (milliliter for milliliter for the minis) and compared that to what you pay for the set. Only one comes out ahead. The big numbers are regular prices. In the Sephora sale everything drops by your tier, so the math stays the same. Under each set I put what you'd pay at rouge, VIB and insider.

This is the one to buy. Both products are full size, so the $45 value on the box is real. It comes in three shade pairs: Sleepy Girl + Pretzel, Sprinkle + Ribbon and Toasted Teddy + Espresso.

Sugarmint Trio
SkincareSkipThe box says $68. It's really worth about $59.
Inside you get a mini Glazing Mist, the Peptide Lip Boost lip mask and 6 pairs of Peptide Eye Prep eye patches. The box says $68 only because the mini mist is $20 by itself. Priced at the full-size rate per milliliter, that mist is worth about $11.25. So you're saving $1. You're paying for a gift box.

The $20 mini mist is really worth about $11.25, so the $68 box comes to about $59.

Mini Rhode Kit
Skincare minisSkip, unless you're travelingA 27% markup for smaller bottles
4 skincare minis for $68, and the box says $78. Priced at full size, milliliter to milliliter, the product inside is worth about $54. I'd only get it if you want to try everything without committing to full sizes, or if you're traveling and these are products you already use.

The 4 minis at full-size prices, milliliter to milliliter, add up to about $54.

Even rouge pays $54.40 for about $54 of product, so the sale doesn't make it a deal.
When to buy
The Sephora Savings Event
The only real discount Rhode gets
Rhode doesn't run a sitewide sale on its own site, so the Sephora sale is the only real discount it gets. Rouge gets 20% off starting October 30. VIB gets 15% and Insider gets 10% starting November 3. It runs through November 9. If you want Rhode, this is when to stock up.
Double check the dates on Sephora before you shop, they can change.
The takeaway
Buy the Pocket Pair. Skip the Sugarmint Trio and the Mini Rhode Kit unless you really want what's inside. In the sale the Pocket Pair goes from $38 to $30.40 for rouge.
